Proclad Induction Bending has secured a six-figure contract from one of the world’s leading players in the delivery of offshore projects to be delivered in the first quarter of 2021.
The contract will see the company produce large volumes of 90 degree bends in two sizes of carbon steel pipes.
Proclad Induction Bending has been working hard in recent months to transform its operations to improve capacity, efficiency, and output from its facility in Scotland.
A key part of the transformation has been the continued investment in its Intelli-Bend system which ensures absolute consistency and repeatability across large volumes of pipes.
The innovative technology continually measures and records the essential variables in the manufacturing process and presents them on a computerised dashboard for reporting as part of their quality assurance programme.
Proclad Induction Bending’s General Manager, Archie Skinner, explained “We are making tremendous progress in our aim to becoming the world’s leading specialist for Induction Bending solutions and Intelli-Bend is just one of the key components in our strategy.”
He continued, “We are now working closely with some innovative players across a number of industries including offshore, chemical engineering, power generation and the defence sector, to understand their requirements in more detail and use our technical expertise and experience to show more efficient ways of achieving their objectives. This has seen several new initiatives, new additional services added and new techniques being used to improve capability and communications.”
